Ramie root is not very familiar to everyone, but it has existed in ancient my country, and it was mainly used to make silk and linen. A long time ago, silk and linen were mainly made from ramie roots. Ramie root is also called ramie head, Sichuan onion, etc., and it has been found that ramie root has high medicinal value. Now let us learn about the main medicinal value of ramie root through the following introduction. Medicinal value: 1. Taste: Ramie root is sweet and cold in nature. 2. Functions and indications: Ramie root can cure fever, severe thirst, madness, hematuria, urinary retention, hematemesis, bleeding, leucorrhea, erysipelas, carbuncle, bruises, snake and insect bites. 3. Medicinal material selection: The dried ramie root is irregularly cylindrical or slightly oblate, slightly curved, with a gray-brown, extremely rough outer skin. There are raised root scars and many wart-like protrusions, and the skin sometimes falls off and becomes fibrous in brown or brownish yellow. It is hard and light in texture, with a fibrous and slightly powdery cross section. The young ones are solid, sometimes with several concentric rings visible in the middle, and the old ones are hollow. It has a slight odor, light taste, and is slightly sticky when chewed. The best ones are gray-brown, evenly striped and firm. Pharmacological action: 1. Hemostatic effect: The extract of ramie root soaked in the artificial wounds of rats and mice can reduce the amount of bleeding and shorten the bleeding time. Oral or intraperitoneal injection to mice also has the same effect. After intramuscular injection to rabbits, the coagulation time is shortened, but the platelet count has no significant change. The extract soaked in the liver and kidney wounds of rats, no obvious hemostatic effect was observed. 2. Effect on bleeding and clotting time: The artificially synthesized "hemothionine" was injected intravenously into rabbits and intraperitoneally into mice, and its clotting time and bleeding time were significantly shortened. "Hemothionine" has no anti-fibrinolytic effect in the test tube. 3. Other effects: The organic acid salts and bioalkalis contained in ramie roots have inhibitory effects on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria in vitro. Among them, hemolytic streptococci, pneumococci, Escherichia coli, and anthrax bacteria are highly sensitive to organic acid salts, and Salmonella is highly sensitive to bioalkalis. Through the above introduction, we now know the medicinal value of ramie root. It is also widely used in clinical practice. It can not only treat vomiting blood, but also has a good effect on treating habitual abortion and fetal movement during pregnancy. It also has the effects of clearing heat, detoxifying and treating various bites, and is widely used in medicine. |
