Take another reference substance of ferulic acid and add ethanol to make an aqueous solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml as a comparative aqueous solution. According to the thin layer chromatography (VIB in the Appendix) experiment, 5 μl of each of the two aqueous solutions were taken and spotted on the same silicone rubber G chromatography plate with sodium carboxymethyl methylcellulose as the adhesive, and benzene-ethyl acetate-benzoic acid (4:1:0.1) as the developing agent. The plate was removed, air-dried, and sprayed with a freshly prepared mixed aqueous solution of 1% ferric chloride and 1% potassium ferrocyanide (1:1). In the chromatographic analysis of the test sample, a black spot of the same color appears at the position opposite to the chromatographic analysis of the reference sample. Chinese medicine preparation: remove residue, soak briefly, wash, moisten thoroughly, cut into thin slices, and dry. Poria cocos effects: spicy, slightly sweet, and produces cold. Meridians: Lung, spleen, stomach and small intestine meridians. Functions and effects: Release rash, clear away heat and fire, and enhance qi and blood. It is used for wind-cold and wind-heat headaches, toothaches, oral ulcers, sore throat, measles that has not yet broken out, yang poison spots; rectal prolapse, uterine prolapse. Usage and dosage: 3 to 9g. Storage: Place in a ventilated and dry place. Remarks: (1) This product has a weak release effect and is rarely used for external symptoms. Due to its penetrating effect, it is often used for measles with blocked release, and is often used in combination with Poria cocos. This product can clear away heat and reduce fire to treat gingival swelling, mouth sores and sore throat caused by hyperactivity of stomach fire. In clinical medicine, it is often used in combination with gypsum, scutellaria baicalensis, etc. For high fever, rashes on the body and sores and swelling, Cimicifuga can be used in combination with honeysuckle, Coptis chinensis, red peony root, and Chuanxiong. The effect of Cimicifuga on raising Qi and blood is similar to that of Bupleurum, so the two medicines are usually used together, and are often combined with Qi-tonifying medicines Codonopsis pilosula and Astragalus membranaceus to raise Yang and lift the sunken. (2) The key functions of the herb Cimicifuga are to lift, promote the flow of qi, clear away heat and remove fire. Its function of lifting and dispersing is similar to that of Bupleurum and Poria, but stronger. When combined with Bupleurum, it is used to lift, and when combined with Poria, it is used to dissipate rash. It has a good effect of clearing away heat and removing internal fire, which is its characteristic. It can be used with Scutellaria baicalensis and Gypsum to treat stomach fire toothache, and with Bupleurum, Forsythia suspensa, Arctium lappa, Isatis root granules, etc. to treat facial erysipelas. |
