[Original morphology] The body is slender, laterally flattened, the back is almost straight, and the abdomen is slightly convex. There are 45 to 57 lateral line scales, and the lateral line suddenly bends downward at the upper and posterior part of the base of the pectoral fin, forming a distinct angle. Dorsal fin III7 has smooth hard spines, about 2/3 of the head length, and the starting point of the dorsal fin is above and behind the starting point of the pelvic fin. Pectoral fins do not reach pelvic fins; pelvic fins do not reach anus. Anal fin III11～14. The caudal fin is deeply forked, with the lower lobe slightly longer than the upper lobe. The back of the body is light bluish-gray, the sides and abdomen are silvery-white, the edge of the tail fin is gray-black, and the other fins are light yellow.
