The petals of orchid are beautiful in color, mostly green or light yellow, with a fragrant and authentic smell. There are many varieties of orchids, each with unique and different functions. They can all be taken as medicine and have unique medicinal value. So what are the effects and functions of orchid flowers? What functions of orchids are there that everyone is not aware of?

Orchid: A perennial woody plant with perennial roots. The flowers are solitary at the top of branches or in racemes. They are mostly green, milky white or light yellow, fragrant, and the flowering period varies depending on the species.

Because there are so many varieties of orchids, and the medicinal value and effects of different types of orchids are also different. For example, bamboo orchid and wolf grass can be used as medicine, which has the effects of clearing away heat and fire, eliminating rheumatism, anti-inflammatory and promoting urination; another example is white ji, whose pseudobulb is used as medicine, which can reduce swelling, promote blood circulation, moisten the lungs, remove toxins and relieve pain. It can moisten the ribs and promote strength; it is also like a ribbon shrimp spine orchid, which can clear away heat and fire, and strengthen the tendons and bones. In addition, most types of orchids, such as Tripterygium wilfordii, Green Spoon Orchid, Black Knot Grass, Dendrobium officinale, etc., are all excellent Chinese herbal medicines and have certain effects on some diseases.

my country's traditional orchid is a precious potted flower with beautiful posture and fragrant aroma (the king of fragrance). However, generations of Chinese medicine practitioners have rarely summarized its efficacy and functions. Both bluegrass and wolfgrass can be used as medicine. It is warm in nature, spicy, sweet and non-toxic. It has the effects of nourishing yin and moistening the lungs, aromatically transforming dampness, clearing away heat and removing fire. It can be used in clinical medicine for internal and gynecological diseases. The author has used orchids to treat various symptoms for more than ten years, with very high efficacy. The summary is as follows.

Nourishes Yin essence, promotes the production of body fluids and quenches thirst, and treats complications of dry mouth and tongue caused by radiotherapy for malignant tumors

[Ming] Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica": "Orchid flowers taste spicy, neutral, sweet and non-toxic." "Its aroma is fragrant, can promote the production of body fluids and quench thirst, moisturize muscles, and treat thirst and gallbladder disease." "... to treat thirst, use orchid leaves, this is the origin." Modern medical research uses radium (cobalt 60) to carry out radiotherapy and chemotherapy on some malignant tumors or cancer surgery, achieving certain results, but it has a certain harm and functional impact on the tissues and organs around the tumor. For example, radiotherapy and chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, laryngeal malignant tumors (mucosal dermoid carcinoma), upper and middle esophageal cancers, etc., lead to the destruction of various glandular ducts in the oral cavity, especially the three pairs of large laryngeal glands, submandibular glands, and sublingual glands, as well as the upper gastrointestinal mucosal gland cells, resulting in a significant decrease in the metabolism of the glandular ducts, resulting in symptoms such as dry and hot throat, dry tongue and lips, and dry mouth and thirst.

In fact, the effects and functions of orchid are very wide-ranging. Li Shizhen first recorded orchid in the Compendium of Materia Medica. Orchid has the effects of promoting fluid and quenching thirst, clearing away heat and removing fire. It has unique effects on the treatment of common pneumonia, nausea and retching and other diseases. Orchid itself can regulate the gastrointestinal tract. If there are sinus cancer, gastroptosis, gastrointestinal indigestion and other diseases, you can use orchid to soak and take.
