[Source] Medicinal material source: The bark of the Achyranthes bidentata plant of the Alumaceae family.

【Original form】 Tree. The buds, young branches and inflorescences are densely covered with short brown hairs, and the twigs are brown. Leaves are often clustered at the top of twigs, alternate; petiole 1-3cm long; leaf blade narrowly elliptic or oblanceolate, 6-15cm long, 2-4cm wide, acute or shortly acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, entire margin, usually pale on the back, turning brown after drying; midrib concave on leaf surface, lateral and reticulate veins convex on leaf surface, 5-12 lateral veins on each side, forked and reticulated near leaf margin. The spike inflorescence is usually branched at the base, 1-1.5cm long, and often in the shape of a cymbidium when in bud; the bracts are broadly ovate, about 2mm long, and covered with brown short hairs; the calyx is about 3mm long, the lobes are ovate, covered with brown short hairs, about the same length as the calyx tube, and the calyx tube is glabrous; the corolla is 4-5mm long, with 5 deep lobes almost reaching the base, the lobes are elliptic, and the apex is rounded: 30-40 stamens, the filaments are slender, and slightly fused at the base; the disk is annular and glabrous; the ovary has 3 chambers. The drupe is narrowly ovate, 1.5-2cm long, narrow near the apex, with erect persistent calyx lobes; the kernel has shallow longitudinal ridges. The flowering period is from April to August, and the fruiting period is from August to October.
