[Original form] Black black tree, 15m high. The young branches are round and turn grayish white when dry. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 1-2cm long; leaf blade is leathery, broadly elliptic to narrowly elliptic, 6-12cm long, 3.5-7cm wide, with rounded or obtuse tip and a short tip, base is broadly cuneate, entire, brown-green or dark brown after drying, slightly shiny on the upper side, slightly lighter in color on the lower side, with many small glandular dots on both sides; pinnate veins are dense. The panicles are axillary or on the branches, up to 11 cm long, occasionally terminal; with short pedicels, white flowers, 3-5 flowers in clusters; the calyx tube is obconical, 4 mm long, with inconspicuous calyx teeth; there are 4 petals, ovate and slightly round, about 2.5 mm long; there are many stamens, 3-4 mm long, with anthers T-shaped and longitudinally fissured; the ovary is inferior, and the style is equal to the stamens. The berry is oval or pot-shaped, 1-2 cm long, with a persistent calyx tube 1-1.5 mm long on the top and 1 seed. Flowering period is February to March.
