"Fuxi No. 1" is here! A giant "fish pond" that can withstand a Category 17 super typhoon and generate electricity!

On September 4, the world's largest single typhoon-resistant wind-fishing integrated cage platform, CGN's "Fuxi No. 1", was completed and put into operation in Shanwei, Guangdong, and the first batch of farmed fish fry was released.

01 "Hard Fight" Super Typhoon

The climate and environment of the sea area where "Fuxi No. 1" is located is complex, and super typhoons are "regular visitors" here. In response to the harsh sea conditions in this unprotected sea area with strong winds, high waves and frequent typhoons, the construction team innovatively applied a number of technologies to reinforce this marine ranch.

It is understood that the giant ocean ranch aquaculture cage structure design and construction technology used by "Fuxi No. 1" is typhoon-resistant, impact-resistant, and highly corrosion-resistant , and can directly withstand a super typhoon of Category 17.

02 Giant "fish pond": aquaculture water volume reaches 63,000 cubic meters

"Fuxi No. 1" is located in the central area of the 500,000-kilowatt offshore wind farm of CGN Houhu in Shanwei. It consists of two parts: the main structure of the cage and the upper platform. The main structure of the cage is 70 meters long and 35 meters wide, with a water depth of about 25.7 meters and a breeding water volume of 63,000 cubic meters.

The project introduces bottom seeding and proliferation technology to co-cultivate fish and shrimp feeding species with shellfish and algae extraction species, innovatively creating a comprehensive multi-trophic aquaculture system. While ensuring the multi-layer utilization of biological metabolites, it can also increase the biodiversity inside and outside the deep-water cages and improve the marine ecological chain.

03 “Offshore Wind Power + Ocean Ranch” Industry Integration

Shanwei City, Guangdong Province has an ocean area of 23,900 square kilometers, and the marine GDP accounts for 18% of the regional GDP. After the cage platform is put into operation, it will form a wind-fishing integration demonstration cluster of "offshore wind power + deep-sea aquaculture + ecological gain + leisure tourism", becoming a new highlight of the development of the marine economy in Guangdong Province and even the whole country.

It is reported that the annual output value of the project is expected to reach 54 million yuan after it is put into production, which has important demonstration significance for the integrated development of my country's "offshore wind power + marine ranch" industries.
