Realistic 3D Tour of National Parks

On October 12, 2021, at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, China officially announced the establishment of five national parks: Sanjiangyuan, Siberian Tiger and Leopard, Giant Panda, Hainan Tropical Rainforest, and Wuyishan.

One year later, what has the first batch of national parks achieved? What amazing animals will we encounter when we enter a national park? See it from a satellite perspective!

Three Rivers National Park

Over the past year, Sanjiangyuan National Park has further optimized and improved the national park planning, construction and management policy system, and promoted Sanjiangyuan National Park into a new stage of high-quality development.

The Yugu Zonglie, the source of the Yellow River, the Geladandong, and Dangqu areas, the source of the Yangtze River, are fully included in the scope of the national park. All important wildlife habitats are included in the core protection areas. The designated area is expanded from 123,100 square kilometers during the pilot period to 190,700 square kilometers.

Siberian Tiger and Leopard National Park

Since its establishment, the natural ecosystem of the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park has been comprehensively protected and restored, a supporting guarantee system has been gradually established, and the population of wild Northeast tigers and leopards has grown steadily.

According to monitoring, the number of wild Siberian tigers has reached more than 50, and the number of wild Siberian leopards has reached more than 60. Among the tiger and leopard populations recently monitored, there are 10 tiger cubs and 7 leopard cubs.

Giant Panda National Park

The Giant Panda National Park is the first national park in my country that is centered on a single species and integrated in its main habitat, with a total area of ​​27,134 square kilometers. It is a "panda ecological corridor" that is home to more than 80% of the country's total wild giant pandas.

Here, in addition to giant pandas, there are more than 8,000 species of wild animals and plants, including snow leopards, Sichuan golden monkeys, green-tailed pheasants, crested ibis, Davidia involucrata, and yew; with the accelerated construction of the Giant Panda National Park, large areas of natural ecosystems are systematically and completely protected, and the living environment of wild animals is effectively improved.

Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park

Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park has opened up ecological corridors, solved the problems of fragmentation, isolation and artificial division of nature reserves, artificially promoted the restoration of damaged natural forests, and gradually restored the rainforest ecosystem.

Three new Hainan gibbons have been added to Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, and the wild population has increased from only two groups of seven individuals 40 years ago to five groups of 36 individuals at present.

Wuyishan National Park

In the past year since the establishment of Wuyishan National Park, it has continuously promoted the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and written one brilliant "ecological answer sheet" after another - new species have been constantly refreshed, and biodiversity protection has achieved remarkable results; the value of ecological assets and ecological services has been improved, and the income of villagers in the jurisdiction has continued to increase; from deforestation to tea planting to "everyone is a national park person", the concept of "green water and green mountains are gold and silver mountains" has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. A green picture of "harmonious coexistence between man and nature" is slowly unfolding among the green mountains and waters of Wuyishan.
