At 12:52 on September 5, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province (29.59 degrees north latitude, 102.08 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 16 kilometers.

Immediately after the earthquake, the Sichuan Provincial Fire Rescue Corps mobilized fire brigades from Chengdu, Deyang and other places, and the Corps' full-time command center set out for the epicenter.

According to feedback from netizens, the earthquake was felt strongly in Chengdu, Chongqing and other places.
