State Post Bureau: The national express delivery business volume during the "Double 11" period in 2021 reached 6.8 billion pieces

Monitoring data from the State Post Bureau shows that during this year's "Double 11" period (November 1-16), postal and express delivery companies nationwide collected 6.8 billion express parcels, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%; and delivered 6.3 billion express parcels, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%. Due to changes in the promotion model and rhythm of e-commerce platforms this year, from a single round of promotion on November 11 in previous years to two rounds of promotion on November 1 and November 11, the express delivery business volume during the entire promotion period this year has changed from a "single peak" to a "double peak".

Among them, the first peak occurred on November 1, when a total of 569 million express parcels were collected nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 28.5%, more than 1 times the average daily business volume in the first nine months of this year; the second peak was on November 11, when a total of 696 million express parcels were collected nationwide, a steady increase, setting a new historical high.

Faced with the new challenges of extended promotion cycles and earlier and longer battle lines, the postal and express delivery industry has continuously strengthened information docking with e-commerce platforms, jointly implemented the core mechanism of "shifting delivery peaks and promoting balanced delivery", and expanded and upgraded sites, vehicles, sorting equipment, information systems, and other aspects, and reserved and trained personnel, greatly improving the industry's carrying capacity and operating efficiency, and doing its best to ensure service during this peak season, and strive to create a safe peak season, a smooth peak season, and a warm peak season to meet the people's growing needs for better postal services. Xu Liangfeng, deputy director of the Data Management Department of the Postal Industry Security Center of the State Post Bureau, said that after the listing of major express delivery companies, the overall capabilities have been greatly improved, especially in terms of informatization, which has greatly improved processing efficiency. Even if the business volume grows rapidly, it will not cause major congestion. "The postal and express delivery industry used to be driven by e-commerce, but now it is driven by its own capabilities. With the improvement of capabilities, it used to take 3 or even 5 days to digest the order volume of 'Double 11', but now the time is greatly reduced."

During this year's peak season for express delivery business, under the normal epidemic prevention and control situation, we must not relax our efforts to prevent the import of the virus from abroad and the rebound of the virus from within. The State Post Bureau requires the entire industry to resolutely implement the "Recommendations on Production and Operation Specifications for the Postal and Express Delivery Industry during the Epidemic Prevention and Control Period (Seventh Edition)", adhere to prevention work, strengthen epidemic prevention management of units, implement zoning and grading prevention and control, strengthen personnel health protection, do a good job in vaccination, strictly prevent the import of the virus from abroad, and properly respond to the rebound of the virus. Postal and express delivery industry practitioners in many places have volunteered in the community, "running around in the face of the epidemic" and jointly fighting the epidemic.

Since November 6, rain and snow have occurred in many parts of my country, and snow has accumulated in some areas, which has had varying degrees of impact on the production and operation of the postal express delivery industry. Postal management departments in various places have promptly issued consumer tips, asking consumers to pay attention to the service reminders of express delivery companies in their regions, calling for tolerance and understanding of express delivery boys, and guiding various delivery companies to actively allocate vehicles and personnel resources according to actual conditions, reasonably arrange the frequency of express delivery, and transfer and deliver in a timely manner, so as to provide good services on the basis of ensuring safe production.
