[Original form] Leech is a perennial herb. The rhizome is thick and long, flat and cylindrical, with horizontal stripes, like a leech, and has many fibrous roots on the lower side. The leaves are all basal; the petiole is 2-8.5cm long and sparsely pubescent; the leaf blade is leathery, ovate, broadly ovate or nearly round, 4-10cm long, 3.5-11cm wide, with an acute or slightly obtuse apex, a skewed base or broadly cuneate to truncate, or one side is cordate and the two sides are asymmetrical, with serrated edges and sparsely long procumbent hairs on both sides. Cymes 1-4 (-7) branches, 1-5 flowers; peduncle 6-28cm long. The pedicels are 5-30 cm long. The calyx is about 10 mm long and 5-lobed to the base. The lobes are linear-lanceolate with teeth on the upper edge. The corolla is lavender or purple, 4-6.5 cm long, sparsely pubescent on the outside, with 2 longitudinal hairs on the inner lip. The corolla tube is finely funnel-shaped, 2.5-3.8 cm long, with 2 lobes on the upper lip and 3 lobes on the lower lip. There are 2 stamens, with sparse pubescent filaments at the base, and the anthers are connected and bearded. There are 2 staminodes, which are glabrous. The disk is annular. The ovary and style are densely covered with short glandular hairs, and the stigma is 2-lobed. The capsule is 6-8cm long and covered with short glandular hairs. The seeds are fusiform, 6-8 mm long. Flowering period is March-April.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on stones or rocks in mountain forests and beside valley streams at an altitude of 400-1000m.
