[Original form] Chlorophytum comosum is a perennial herb. Leaves are basal, arranged in nearly two rows; leaf blades are linear, often arc-shaped, 10-30 cm long, 3-6 mm wide, with a distinct midrib, enlarged base, clasping the stem, membranous, and translucent. The flower stalk emerges from the leaf axil; the raceme is terminal; the flowers are small, lavender or greenish-white, and have stalks; the perianth is 6-lobed; there are 6 stamens; the ovary is sessile, 3-chambered, and each chamber contains multiple ovules. Capsule triplastrate, flattened spherical, dehiscent. Each locule usually contains one round seed. The flowering and fruiting period is from October to April of the following year.
