【English Name】 Ganoderma Sinensis

[Other names] Black Ganoderma, Black Ganoderma

【Source】 It is the fruiting body of Ganoderma sinense Zhao, Xu et Zhang, a member of the Polyporaceae family . After harvesting, wash off the mud and sand and dry them in the sun.

[Original morphology] The cap is corky, mostly semicircular to kidney-shaped, a few nearly circular, large individuals can reach 20cm in length and width, general individuals are 4.7×4cm, small individuals are 2×1.4cm, the surface is black with a lacquer-like luster, with circular concentric ridges and radial ridges. The flesh is rusty brown. The tube mouth is the same color as the flesh of the fungus, the tube mouth is round, and there are 5 per millimeter. The stipe is lateral, up to 15 cm long, about 2 cm in diameter, black and shiny. The spores are broadly oval, 10-12.5 × 7-8.5 um, with conspicuous warts on the inner wall.

[Habitat distribution] It mostly grows on the ground next to the stumps of broad-leaved trees or on pine wood, or on rotten coniferous wood. Produced in Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong and Guangxi.

【Chemical composition】 The fruiting body and mycelium contain protein, amino acids, carbohydrates, coumarins, steroids and triterpenoids. The fruiting body contains oil, wax, volatile and sublimable substances.
