[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb or inflorescence of the dwarf chrysanthemum of the Asteraceae family.

[Original form] Dwarf weeping chrysanthemum is a short herb, 5-15cm tall. The upper part of the stem is covered with dense dark brown hairs, or sometimes mixed with white spider silk hairs. The leaves are nearly leathery; the basal leaves are ovate, 2-3cm long, 1.5-2.5cm wide, short cuneate or nearly rounded at the base, with several coarse teeth on the margin, glabrous on the upper side, or initially covered with sparse spider-like hairs that gradually fall off, covered with white pubescent hairs on the lower side, with long petioles; the stem leaves are elliptical, ovate-elliptical to linear, with coarse teeth on the margin, white hairs on the lower side, with short petioles or without petioles. The head inflorescence is solitary at the end of the stem, semi-drooping; the involucral bracts are linear-lanceolate, 12-15mm long, and densely pubescent with black and white hairs; the flowers are heteromorphic, with ligulate flowers yellow, the ligules oblanceolate, and 2-3 small teeth at the tip; the tubular flowers are yellow, about 8mm long, and tubular-conical. Achenes are oblong; pappus is white, 6-7mm long.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in alpine meadows and gravelly hillsides.

[Properties] Identification of properties: This product is wrinkled into a ball, with white pappus, most of which are nearly the same length as the involucral bracts, inflorescence diameter 1.2-1.7cm, involucre dark green, lanceolate, glabrous, about 10mm long; ligulate flowers in one layer, yellow, wrinkled, complete ligules linear-lanceolate, with several parallel straight veins; tubular flowers about 8mm long, dark brown, 5 shallowly lobed at the tip, 5 stamens, polythene, dark purple, stigma 2-lobed, dark brown. Achenes are oblong, 6-7mm long. Lightweight and soft. It has a fragrant aroma and a slightly sweet taste. The ones with yellow color and fragrant smell are preferred.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and clear away heat; promote diuresis and reduce swelling. Mainly used for cold and fever; difficulty urinating; body swelling
