Leaves opposite; petiole 3-28mm long, densely pubescent and with small glandular dots; leaf blade papery, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate or ovate, 4-19cm long, 1.5-7cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded or slightly cordate, entire or with fine wavy teeth, glabrous above, with yellow small glandular dots below; basal veins 5, flowers bisexual, 4-merous; cymes forming panicles, terminal, pubescent and with small glandular dots; pedicel 1-3mm long; calyx funnel-shaped, with four ridges, about 5mm long, densely covered with small glandular dots, lobes linear-triangular, 1-1.5mm long; petals purple-red, ovate, nearly rounded to obovate, about 2.5mm long; stamens 4, filaments 7-10mm long, pubescent, anthers linear, about 8mm long, curved, base forked in a horn-like manner; ovary semi-inferior, ovate, with 4 small protuberances at the apex, covered with small glandular dots.
