Medicinal properties The whole plant is slightly cylindrical, with 3 to 5 or more lateral roots at the bottom, 15 to 25 cm long. The outer skin is fine and dense, the surface is yellow-brown to brown, with longitudinal wrinkles and long horizontal lenticels. The root head (guitou) is 1.5 to 4 cm in diameter, with annular marks, blunt upper end, and purple or yellow-green stem and sheath remnants; the main root (guishen) has an uneven surface; the branch root (guitai) is 0.3 to 1 cm in diameter, thick on the top and thin on the bottom, twisted, and has a few traces of fibrous roots. The wood is lighter in color; there is usually pith and cavity in the center of the cross section of the rhizome. Sweet, spicy, warm. It enters the liver, heart and spleen meridians. Those that are woody, dry and oilless, or have a green-brown cross-section cannot be used for medicinal purposes. Function and indications 1. Efficacy: Used to treat unconsciousness caused by stroke, foaming at the mouth, and postpartum paralysis. ① Anti-hypoxia effect; ② Regulate the body's immune function and have anti-cancer effects; ③ Skin care and beauty effects; ④ The effect of nourishing blood and activating blood circulation; ⑤ Antibacterial and anti-atherosclerotic effects. 2. Usage and dosage: Fry until black, grind into fine powder, use 9 grams each time, add 1 cup of water and a little wine, decoct and drink. 6 to 12 grams. 3. Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, away from moisture and insects. 4. Preparation: Angelica fluid extract 5. Recipe: equal parts of Angelica sinensis and Schizonepeta tenuifolia. Whole Angelica Grade 1: Dry Goods. The upper main root is cylindrical, and the lower part has multiple lateral roots. The root tip is no thinner than 0.2 cm. The surface is brown or yellowish brown, and the cross section is yellowish white or light yellow. It is oily, aromatic, and tastes sweet and slightly bitter. There are less than 40 roots per kilogram, without moss roots, impurities, insect columns, or mildew. |
