[Original form] Dwarf Scorzonera is a perennial herb, 3-10 (18) cm tall. The rhizome is cylindrical, with fibrous residual leaf sheaths at the root neck. The stem is very short and covered with thick, spider-like hairs. Basal leaves are linear, grass-leaf-like, 2-4mm wide, spreading or erect, as high as or higher than the plant, with a distinct midrib; cauline leaves are 1-2, scale-like, lanceolate. Inflorescence capitulate, solitary at the top of the stem, homogeneous, 3-5cm long; involucre broadly cylindrical; involucre layers, outer layer trilate or ovate, inner layer oblong-lanceolate; flowers all ligulate, yellowish, ligule veins dark red, rose after drying. Achenes, slightly curved, 8-10mm long, 1.5mm thick, glabrous; pappus dirty white, feathery.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on mountain grass slopes at an altitude of 2600m.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet; slightly bitter; cold
