[Original form] Fine-flowered torch flower, shrub, 1-3m high. The branches are sparsely covered with rusty leaves, hard and single. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 1-1.5cm long, covered with sparse rusty hard simple hairs; leaf blade is elliptical, 4.5-8.5cm long, 2-4cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, broadly cuneate or nearly circular at the base, with small pointed round teeth on the edge, and covered with hard simple hairs on both sides. The cymes are axillary, closely arranged in capitulate or racemes on the stems and branches, with many flowers; bracts are 2-3mm long; pedicels are 1-2mm long, all parts are covered with sparse stiff hairs; calyx is tubular-clasp-shaped, about 6mm long, with sparse hairs on the outside, 5 calyx teeth, triangular, acuminate; corolla is yellow or red, thin and weak, 2.5cm long, covered with sparse short soft hairs on the outside, upper lip straight, rounded or flute-notched at the apex, lower lip 3-lobed, with 4 nearly equal stamens, the front pair is longer, filaments are covered with short pubescence, anthers are 2-chambered; ovary is glabrous, style apex is 2-lobed; disk is flat-topped. The flowering period is from November to February of the following year.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing under bushes or mixed woods at an altitude of 1120-1800m.
