[Original morphology] Schima superba is a tree, 20-30m tall, with twigs dark purple or dark brown, and young branches with silvery-white hairs. The capsule is spherical, woody, about 1.5 cm in diameter, and 5-lobed. The seeds are 5-6 mm long and surrounded by broad wings.
