If we want to regulate the body, we can use some Chinese medicine to improve it. Duhuo is a very good medicine for removing dampness and regulating the body. It also has anti-inflammatory and sedative effects. So, what are the effects and functions of Duhuo foot soak?

What is Duhuo

Angelica dahurica, also known as longevity grass and Duhua, is the dried root of Angelica sinensis of the Umbelliferae family. It is dug up when the seedlings just sprout in early spring or when the stems and leaves wither in late autumn. The fibrous roots and mud are removed, and the root is dried until half-dry. It is piled up for 2 to 3 days, and then dried until completely dry after it becomes soft. "Compendium of Materia Medica" says: "It is specially used to treat rheumatism in the lower abdomen, pain and numbness in the feet, itching and cramps due to dampness." Modern research shows that Angelica dahurica has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and sedative effects; it has an inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation; and has a antihypertensive effect, but it is not long-lasting; the bergamot lactone and zanthoxylum toxin it contains have photosensitizing and anti-tumor effects.

It is used for wind-cold with dampness in the exterior, with symptoms of aversion to cold and fever, headache, drowsiness and heaviness, soreness and pain in the limbs, constant drowsiness, nasal congestion, no sweating, and thick white tongue coating. It is often used with pungent and warm herbs to dispel the exterior and eliminate dampness.

2. It can remove wind and dampness. It is an important medicine for rheumatic pain in the waist and knees. It is used to treat rheumatic joint pain, such as rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis. Duhuo can dispel wind and cold, remove dampness, benefit joints and relieve pain.

3. In addition to being used for rheumatic joint pain and muscle pain, it is also used for swollen and painful gums caused by wind. It can be boiled in wine and used to gargle while hot. To treat toothache caused by wind and fire, it can be taken with gypsum, angelica dahurica, and asarum.

5. Pungent, dispersing, warming and drying products should not be used by those suffering from excessive yin and dry blood, or those suffering from deficiency of qi and blood instead of wind, cold or dampness.
