The small bag is oblate, with a diameter of about 1-2mm, and there are hyphae cords in the lower center fixed to the bottom of the cup. The spores are borne in small packets, which are spherical to broadly elliptical, with thick walls and are nearly transparent and colorless. (22-38)μm×(18-38)μm.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Grown on piles of organic fertilizers such as straw, compost and manure. Common in autumn.

【Properties】 Identification of properties 1. The capsule of the fecal black egg-nest fungus is cup-shaped, 5-15mm high and 3-5mm in diameter. The outer surface is densely covered with brown, light yellow or gray coarse hairs. Sometimes the hairs are completely shed and become dark brown, with no longitudinal stripes. The inside is smooth and dark gray-brown to nearly black. There are several small bags at the bottom of the cup, which are black, oblate, and about 2mm in diameter, and the outer layer of the wall is composed of thick brown filaments.

【Chemical composition】 The fruiting body contains striatin A, B, C, striatal A, B. In addition, glochidone, glochidonol, glochidiol, glochidiol diacetate, cyathic acid, striatic acid, cy-athadonic acid, epistrialic acid, schizandronol, 7α-hydroxy schizandronol, and schizandronol-8,13β-oxide were isolated from the fruiting bodies in culture.
