[Original form] A tree, 4 to 6 meters tall, with milky white sap. The leaves are lanceolate to rectangular, 10 to 15 cm long, gradually narrow at both ends, bare and shiny, with slender lateral veins. The flowers are white and fragrant, with cymes about the same length as the leaves; the calyx tube is short, with 5 lobes, rectangular or lanceolate, about 1 cm long; the corolla tube is slender, greenish-white, about 4 cm long, 5-lobed, with a purple-red heart, 4 to 5 cm in diameter; the stamens are 5, hidden, the anthers are lanceolate, the base of the locule is rounded, and separated from the style; the disk is absent; the carpels are 2, free. The fruit is smooth, oval or ovate, about 6 cm long, orange-yellow, sweet, with a thick, fibrous skin. The core is large, the kernel is milky white and tastes bitter. Flowering period is June.

[Habitat distribution] It likes to grow on coastal beaches or on the banks of rivers near the sea and near villages. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi and Taiwan.
