The cymes are axillary; the felt leaves are linear-lanceolate, densely covered with bristles; the calyx is tubular, with 5 teeth, and the calyx teeth are conical; the corolla is lip-shaped, pink, densely covered with long white hairs, the lower lip is 3-lobed, and the tip of the middle lobe is slightly concave: 4 stamens; 1 pistil, and the style is 2-lobed, of unequal length. Nutlets apexed with bristles.

[Habitat distribution] Growing in grasslands and riverside grasses. Distributed in Northeast China, Northwest China and Inner Mongolia.

[Chemical composition] The above-ground part contains a variety of polyphenols, including caffeic acid, 4-o-caffeoyl-D-quinic acid, and glucose, xylose and rhamnose esters of caffeic acid. This product contains more than 0.5% of original alkali.
