[Original form] Shrub or small tree, 3-6m high. The twigs are hypertrophic, slightly fleshy at the top, gray-green, and sparsely covered with prickles. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 3-10cm long, sparsely covered with prickles and soft hairs; stipules are ovate-lanceolate, about 1cm long, and fall off early; leaf blades are various in shape, elliptic, elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, sometimes obovate-lanceolate, 10-35cm long, 5-16cm wide, with acute to acuminate apex, base cuneate, obtuse or cordate, entire or with shallow teeth or teeth above the middle and lower parts, sparsely covered with small prickles on veins on both sides or nearly glabrous; leaf veins are pinnate, except for the lowest pair extending to the leaf margin, the other pairs are connected to each other at the near margin. Dioecious; inflorescence is conical or racemose branched, with long prickles and soft hairs on the axis; male inflorescence 5-10cm long, male flowers with short stalks, tepals and 4 stamens; female inflorescence 10-20cm long, female flowers with short stalks, growing longer when fruiting, solitary or several in clusters on the branches, tepals 4, unequal in size, stigma linear. Achenes are pear-shaped, 4-6 mm long, with warts on the outside. The flowering period is spring and the fruiting period is autumn.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in mixed forests on both sides of river valleys at an altitude of 700-800m.
