Alpinia oxyphylla kernels are extremely rich in vitamin C and vitamin B, as well as a large number of elements needed by the human body. Even though its nutritional value is so high, it should not be used indiscriminately and needs to be used in appropriate dosage according to the doctor's advice. Usage and Dosage of Alpinia oxyphylla For internal use: decoct in water, 3-9g; or make into pills or powder. Effects and functions of Alpinia oxyphylla Warms the spleen, stops diarrhea and controls salivation; warms the kidneys, reduces urine and consolidates semen. It is used to treat spleen and stomach deficiency and coldness, vomiting, diarrhea, coldness in the abdomen, excessive salivation, enuresis due to kidney deficiency, frequent urination, spermatorrhea, and leukorrhea. It is used to treat abdominal pain caused by cold, vomiting and diarrhea caused by cold, excessive salivation, spermatorrhea, residual urine, and frequent urination at night. ① "Guangzhi": Hold it in your mouth to absorb saliva and dirt. ② "Bencao Shiyi": Stops vomiting and retching. It can be used to treat spermatorrhea, residual urine, replenish qi and calm the mind, make up for deficiencies, benefit the three burners, regulate various qi. For those who urinate frequently at night, take 24 pieces, crush them, add salt and boil them together for oral administration. ③Liu Wansu: Develop stagnation and promote the flow of Qi. ④ "Origin of Medicine": Treats cold evil in the spleen and stomach, harmonizes the middle and replenishes Qi. To treat excessive salivation, it should be used together with tonic Chinese medicine. ⑤Wang Haogu: benefits the spleen and stomach, regulates vital energy, replenishes kidney deficiency, and promotes smooth bowel movements. ⑥ "Compendium of Materia Medica": Treats abdominal pain caused by cold air, insufficient heart qi, nocturnal emission, red turbidity, heat damage to the heart system, vomiting blood, and uterine bleeding. Additional prescription of Alpinia oxyphylla ① Treat cold due to excessive Yin, fullness in the heart and abdomen, vomiting and diarrhea, cold hands and feet, and all kinds of cold air rushing, fullness and colic in the heart, ribs, navel and abdomen: Chuanwu (fried, peel and navel removed) 4 liang, Yizhi (peeled) 2 liang, Ganjiang (fried) half a liang, Qingpi (remove the white part) 3 liang. The above items are scattered. Take three grams each time, add two cups of water, a pinch of salt, five slices of ginger, two dates, break them up, boil them together until eight parts are left, remove the residue, and drink it warm before meals. (Yizhi powder from the Bureau of Prescriptions) ② Treat abdominal distension and sudden diarrhea that does not stop day and night and is ineffective with other medicines. This is due to loss of Qi: 2 liang of Alpinia oxyphylla kernel. Decoction it into thick liquid and drink it. (The Effective Prescriptions of Worldly Doctors) ③Treat nocturnal emission: 2 liang of Alpinia oxyphyllae (fried with 2 liang of salt, then remove the salt), 2 liang of Atractylodes lancea, grind the above into powder, make a paste with 1 liang of Chinese yam, and make pills as big as sycamore seeds. Take 50 pills each time, on an empty stomach with salt water before going to bed, and coat with cinnabar. (Sanxian Pills from "The Effective Prescriptions of World Doctors") ④ Treat bladder qi deficiency and cold, frequent urination, or enuresis, especially effective for children: take equal parts of Wuyao yao and Alpinia oxyphylla. Grind the above ingredients into powder, boil the yam with wine, make the powder into balls as big as tung seeds. Take 70 pills each time, with salt wine or rice drink. (Suquan Pills from "Good Prescriptions for Women", which is Guzhen Pills from "Wei's Family Prescriptions") ⑤ Treat enuresis in children and leukorrhea: take equal parts of Alpinia oxyphylla and white Poria cocos and grind them into powder. Take one coin each time, mixed with empty stomach and rice soup. (Yizhiren powder from "Buyao Xiaoxiu Xiaopei Fanglun") ⑥To treat metrorrhagia in women: fry and grind Alpinia oxyphylla into powder, take one qian of it with rice drink and add salt. (《Effective Production Treasure》) ⑦Treatment of miscarriage and bleeding: half a liang of Alpinia oxyphylla and one liang of Amomum villosum. For the end. Take three grams each time, on an empty stomach with white soup, twice a day. (Hu's "Jiyin Prescription") ⑧To treat hernia pain, with cramps in the lower abdomen and constant screaming: 3 qian each of Alpinia oxyphylla, dried ginger (fried), licorice (roasted), and fennel (fried), 0.5 liang each of Aconitum (fried, peeled), and ginger, and 2 qian of Citrus aurantium (peeled). Chop finely. Take four grams each time, add two cups of water and a little salt, boil until seven parts are left, remove the residue, and drink warm on an empty stomach before meals. (Yizhiren Decoction from Jisheng Fang) ⑨ Treats leukorrhea and abdominal distension, suitable for both men and women: Alpinia oxyphylla (fried in salt water) and Magnolia officinalis (fried in ginger juice) in equal parts. Take three slices of ginger and one date, decoct in water and drink. (Yongleiqianfang) ⑩To treat red and turbid urine: 2 liang of Alpinia oxyphylla and Poria cocos, 0.5 jin of Polygala tenuifolia and Licorice root (boiled in water). Grind into powder, make into pills with wine paste, the size of walnuts. Take 50 pills with ginger soup on an empty stomach. (Compendium) Precautions Those with yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire or who suffer from nocturnal emission, menorrhagia and uterine bleeding due to heat should not take it. ① "Bencao Jingshu": Vomiting is due to heat and not cold; qi reversal is due to anger and not weakness; residual urine is due to water depletion and internal heat due to deficiency of essence and not due to kidney qi deficiency and cold; diarrhea is due to the violent influx of dampness and fire and not due to qi deficiency and slippery intestines, and they are all prohibited. ② "Bencao Beiyao": It is forbidden to use for those who suffer from metrorrhagia or turbidity due to heat. ③ "Ben Jing Feng Yuan": Do not use it incorrectly if the blood is dry and there is fire. |
