[Original form] Wolf claw hollyhock is a biennial or perennial herb. The whole plant is pink and white, densely covered with purple-red dots. The leaves are fleshy, arranged in a rosette-like manner, oblong-lanceolate, with cartilaginous appendages and white cartilaginous spines at the apex, and entire. The flower stem is unbranched, 10-35cm high, with alternate leaves on it, linear or lanceolate-linear, 1.5-3.5cm long, 2-4mm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, and with white cartilaginous spines. The raceme is cylindrical, densely packed with flowers; the bracts are linear to linear-lanceolate, the same length as the flowers or longer; the sepals are 5, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, 2mm long, with spots; the petals are 5, white, oblong-lanceolate, 5-6mm long, 2mm wide, slightly connate at the base, and acute at the apex; the stamens are 10, slightly shorter than the petals; the scales are 5, nearly square; the carpels are 5, developing into follicles. Seeds linear-oblong, brown. Flowering and fruiting period is September-October.
