The mouth is inferior, small, arc-shaped, and the upper and lower jaws are keratinized. There are two pairs of whiskers, the snout whiskers are more obvious, and the mandibular whiskers are short. There are many small nipple-like protrusions on the edge of the lip, the edge of the upper lip is finely wavy, and the post-labial groove is interrupted. Pharyngeal teeth in 3 rows. The scales are medium-sized, with 38 to 41 scales on the lateral line.
