[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the Urticaceae plant Stylosa scabra.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The stem is about 40cm tall and hairy. Leaves are short-petiolate or sessile; stipules are narrowly lanceolate or subulate; leaf blades are nearly papery, obliquely narrowly elliptic, 5-12cm long, 2.2-4.7cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate on the narrow side, broadly cuneate or rounded on the wide side, margin with shallow obtuse teeth at the top, stalactites obvious; semi-free ternate or ternate veins, lateral veins 3-4 on each side. Dioecious; male inflorescence solitary in leaf axils, with short stalks, about 9mm in diameter; bracts broadly ovate; male flowers have 4 tepals; female inflorescence nearly sessile or with short stalks; receptacle undivided or 2-lobed. Achenes are ovoid, about 0.8 mm long, with about 8 longitudinal ribs. Flowering and fruiting period is summer and autumn.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in the shade and wet places under rocks and in the grass in wetlands under forests at an altitude of 500-1500m.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and dampness; detoxify and kill insects. Mainly used for rheumatism, carbuncle, scabies

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g. For external use: appropriate amount, crush the fresh product and apply on the affected area; or boil it in water and wash with it.
