[Properties] This product is long tubular, unbranched, 40 to 60 cm long and 0.2 to 0.7 cm in diameter. The surface is gray-green or yellow-green, with 18 to 30 longitudinal ridges, and many small, shiny wart-like protrusions on the ridges; the nodes are obvious, the internodes are 2.5 to 9 cm long, and the nodes are borne with tubular scale leaves. The base of the leaf sheath and the sheath teeth are black-brown, and the middle part is light brown-yellow. It is light, brittle, easy to break, hollow in cross section, and has many small round cavities around it. It has a slight odor, tastes sweet and light, slightly astringent, and feels like sand when chewed.
