[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Masson cypress of the Huperzetti family.

[Original morphology] Epiphytic plant with soft drooping stems, 20-30cm long, and many binary branches. The leaves are leathery, spirally arranged, twisted at the base and arranged in two rows; the leaf blades are elliptical or lanceolate, 1-1.5cm long, 3-4mm wide, acuminate at the apex, rounded cuneate at the base, and entire; the main vein is obvious. The sporangium spike is slightly thinner than the nutrient leaf part and is terminal; the sporangium leaves are elliptical or lanceolate, 4-6mm long, about 1mm wide, cuneate at the base, acuminate at the apex, and entire; the sporangium grows in the axils of the sporangium leaves, is round and kidney-shaped, and is yellow in color.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in evergreen broad-leaved forests in low mountains, epiphytic on tree trunks or rock walls.

【Chemical composition】 The whole plant contains triterpenes: serratenediol, tohogenol, serratriol, diepi-serratenediol, 21-episerratenediol; bioalkaloids: lycodoline, phlegmariurine A, B, C, M and fordimine.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter; Cool

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and dredge meridians; reduce swelling and relieve pain; clear away heat and detoxify. Swelling and pain in the main joints; numbness of the limbs; traumatic injury; cough and asthma; hot stranguria; poisonous snake bites

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 3-9g; or soaked in wine. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
