[Source] It is the flower of the plant Mongolica mongolica of the Dipsacus family. Harvest in summer and dry in the shade.

[Original morphology] Perennial herb, 20 to 60 cm tall, with erect stems, smooth or with short hairs. Root leaves are ovate-elliptic, oblong, elliptic-lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, with long petioles, entire or notched-toothed margins, sometimes pinnate-lobed, densely covered with short hairs on the underside; stem leaves are deeply pinnate-lobed, with linear lobes. The head inflorescence is solitary at the top of the branch, about 3 cm in diameter, and blue; the bracts are linear; the outer edge flowers are lip-shaped and 2-lobed, the lower lip lobes are longer, and the central flower is tubular and 5-lobed. Achenes, linear.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on hillsides and grasslands. Distributed in Inner Mongolia, Northeast China and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet, slightly bitter, cool.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and purges fire. Treat liver fire headache, fever, lung heat cough and jaundice.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral administration: grind into powder, 0.5 to 1 qian.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat lung heat, cough and asthma: 5 qian of Mongolian mountain radish flower, 4 qian of licorice, 3 qian of caraway seedlings, 2 qian of polygala, and 1 qian of rosehip thistle. Grind together into fine powder. Take three times a day, 5 fen to 1 qian each time, with warm water.
