[Original form] Huaxilonglong grass is a perennial herb, 10-20cm tall, rarely reaching 40cm. With runners; stems are slender, and young branches are often covered with short soft hairs. Leaves are opposite; petioles are 5-25mm long, pubescent when young; leaf blades are ovate, 2.8-6.5cm long, 2-4.5cm wide, with short acuminate apex, cuneate or slightly cordate base, serrate margins, sparsely strigose pubescent above, and sparsely pubescent beneath. The cyme has few flowers and is borne in the leaf axils at the top of the stem; the bracts are subulate, 1mm long; the calyx is tubular, 15-18mm long, densely pubescent on the outside, the upper lip is longer and has 3 teeth, the lower lip has 2 teeth, all teeth are triangular and ciliate; the corolla is light pink or purple-red, 2.8-4.5cm long, sparsely pubescent on the outside, the upper lip is slightly concave at the tip, the lower lip is 3-lobed, the middle lobe is larger, and the edges are wavy; there are 4 stamens that do not extend out of the corolla, and the anthers are 2-chambered and pubescent; the ovary is 4-lobed and pubescent, the style extends out of the corolla, and the stigma is 2-lobed; the disk is cup-shaped and finger-like inflated in front. Small nuts. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from June to September.
