Basal leaves are odd-pinnate compound leaves with petioles sparsely pubescent; there are 5 to 9 leaflets, the upper ones are larger than the lower ones, elliptical to obovate, 0.5 to 7 cm long, 0.4 to 3 cm long, green on both sides, with scattered pubescent hairs, denser on the underside; stem leaves are small, with 3 leaflets, and short or no petiole. The corymbose cyme is terminal, with many, loose flowers, pedicels and long soft hairs, yellow flowers, 1 to 1.7 cm in diameter; sepals are triangular ovate; epicalyx segments are oblong-lanceolate; petals are obovate, obtuse or slightly concave at the apex; style is nearly terminal, large at the top and small at the bottom. Achenes are nearly kidney-shaped with veins on the surface. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from June to August.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in ditches, grasslands, bushes and under sparse woods. It is mainly produced in Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong.
