【Functions and indications】Dispel wind, promote dampness removal, stop bleeding, and disperse blood stasis. Treats wind and water, jaundice, coughing up blood, vomiting blood, blood in the stool, hematuria, amenorrhea in women, and toothache.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral administration: mash into juice or grind into powder, 1 to 3 qian. For external use: grind into powder or burn and sprinkle.

[Additional prescription] ① Treating fever and amenorrhea in virgins: 5-7 qian of willow flowers, 1 liang 2 qian of purple grass, 9 qian of cimicifuga, and 7.5 qian of Radix Angelicae Sinensis. The top is the last. Take 7 qian each time, mixed with grape decoction. (Red Water Pearl)

The flower is a tender stamen, which can be crushed and taken as juice. The seeds and catkins are connected and difficult to distinguish. They can only be used to apply to sores, stop bleeding, and wrap arthritis. The so-called seed juice for treating thirst is soaked with catkins, ground into juice and taken. Cui Shi's "Four Min Yue Ling" also said that picking catkins in March can cure diseases, so catkins are often used in medicine."
