[Original form] Hexapoda is a perennial herb, 40-100cm tall. The stem is erect and much-branched, and the entire plant is almost covered with glandular hairs except the corolla. Leaves are alternate and sessile; leaf blades are elliptic-oblanceolate, upper leaves are linear-lanceolate, 2.5-10cm long, 2-7.5cm wide, with obtuse or short pointed tips, base gradually narrowing and extending down to the stem in a wing-like shape, with sparse fine teeth on the edges. There are many capitulums, 1-1.5cm in diameter, conical in shape, and slightly drooping when fruiting; there are about 6 layers of bracts, linear-lanceolate, hard in texture, and covered with short glandular hairs; the outer layer is short, often 1/3-1/5 of the innermost layer; there are many flowers, polygamous, female flowers are filamentous, and bisexual flowers are tubular; the entire corolla is lavender. Achenes are cylindrical, about 1mm long, with 10 ribs, and covered with sparse white soft hairs; the pappus is white, easily falls off, and is about 7mm long. The flowering and fruiting period is from October to February of the following year.
