[Original form] Blue ice flower, perennial herb, 3-15cm high. Except for the carpels, everything is glabrous. The rhizome is thick and the stem is erect, often branched near the ground, with several sheath-like scales at the base and lower part. The leaves at the lower part of the stem have long petioles, up to 3.2 cm long, with narrow sheaths at the base; the leaf blades are oblong, oblong-narrowly ovate or narrowly triangular in outline, 1-4.8 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, two to three times pinnately lobed, with 4-6 pairs of pinnae, slightly alternate, the final segments are narrowly lanceolate or lanceolate-linear, with a short tip. Flowers bisexual, 1-2cm in diameter; sepals 5-7, dark purple, obovate-elliptic or ovate, 4-6mm long, rounded at the apex; petals about 8, blue or light blue, narrowly obovate, 5.5-11mm long, with a few small teeth at the apex; stamens numerous, slightly shorter than sepals, filaments narrowly linear, anthers elliptic; hearts up to 20, hairy, style very short, achenes, obovate, about 2mm long, with sparse short soft hairs at the bottom. The flowering period is from April to July, and the fruiting period is from May to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on mountain slope grasslands at an altitude of 2300-5000m.

[Properties] Identification of properties: the rhizome is thick, with many fine roots, the stem is branched from the bottom and is hairless. Leaves with long petioles and sheaths at the base; complete leaf blades are oblong or narrowly triangular, 1-4 cm long, about 1 cm wide, two to three times pinnately lobed, with 4-6 pairs of lobes, ovate, with short tips, gray-green, some with terminal flowers, 1-2 cm in diameter; sepals are dark purple and glabrous; there are about 8 petals, blue or light blue, narrowly obovate, with small teeth at the apex. It has a faint smell and a bitter taste.
