Or linear-lanceolate, 1.5-10cm long, 1-7cm wide, with acute or acuminate apex, rounded, broadly cuneate or shallowly cordate base, entire margin, nearly glabrous on both sides, or sparsely pubescent beneath. Inflorescence paniculate, many-flowered, axillary or terminal; flowers bisexual, 1-2cm in diameter; sepals 4, oblong or rounded-obovate, 0.5-1.5cm long, 1.5-3mm wide, spreading, white, apex often convex, outer edge densely pubescent, or with short soft hairs in the middle; petals absent; stamens numerous, unequal in length, glabrous; carpels numerous, pubescent. Achenes are flat, ovate, 3-7 mm long, sparsely covered with soft hairs, and persistent style is feathery, up to 2-5 cm long. The flowering period is from June to September, and the fruiting period is from August to November.
