[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruiting bodies of the Trichoderma family fungi Agrocybe edulis and Agrocybe leucophylla.

[Original morphology] 1. The fruiting body of Pleurotus eryngii is large, and the cap is 7-36cm wide. Oblate hemispherical to nearly flat, concave to funnel-shaped in the middle, dirty white, bluish white or slightly grayish yellow, smooth, with edges rolled inward to gradually stretched. The flesh is white and thick. The gills are white to dirty white, turning bluish brown when old, extended, dense, narrow, and of unequal length. The stipe is relatively thick, 5-13cm long, 2-6cm thick, swollen at the base and thinner upwards. White to bluish white, smooth and fleshy. Spore print white. Spores are colorless, smooth, oval, (6-8) μm × (4-6) μm. The folded cystic body is club-shaped, (30-33)μm×(5.6-7)μm.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Large white pile mushroom grows on grass in the forest, singly or in groups in summer and autumn, often forming mushroom rings. The fruiting bodies are produced on the outer edge of the ring, and yellow-brown, irregular sclerotia are formed underground.

【Properties】 Identification of properties 1. The cap of the large white pileus mushroom is flat and hemispherical, or funnel-shaped with a concave center, with a diameter of 7-36cm, dirty white, bluish white or slightly grayish yellow, a smooth surface, and inward-rolled or flat edges. The flesh of the mushroom is white. The gills are dense, unequal in length, white, dull white or bluish-brown. The stipe is cylindrical with a swollen base. 5-13cm long, 2-6cm in diameter, white or bluish white. Slight odor, light taste.

[Chemical composition] Contains steroidal compounds such as 5α-cholest-7-en-3β-ol, ergosterol, and 5,7-ergosta-5,7-dien-3β-ol. The culture medium contains compounds such as polyacetylene.

【Meridian】 Lung meridian

【Functions and indications】Relieve exterior symptoms and clear away heat; promote rash; help digestion; fight tuberculosis. It is mainly used for cold and cough; measles with poor outbreak; food stagnation; abdominal distension; pulmonary tuberculosis.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g.
