The efficacy and function of Ryoteng

Liangteng is a common Chinese medicine in clinical practice and has high health value. For people with poor physical constitution, eating Liangteng can greatly improve their physical health. Today I will introduce Liangteng to you.

[Alias] The wind that disappears across the mountains, the golden thread wind.

[Source] Medicinal material source: The root of Sichuan ring ring vine of the Menispermaceae family.

[Original morphology] Sichuan whorl of rings is a herbaceous vine. Sometimes the old stems become slightly woody, and the whole plant is glabrous except for the bracts. The stem is slender and long with longitudinal stripes. The petiole is peltate near the base of the leaf blade; the leaves are thin leathery or papery, lanceolate or oblong, 5-15cm long, 2-5.5cm wide, acuminate or caudate-acuminate at the apex, rounded at the base, entire, turning brown when dry, with 3-5 palmate veins. Inflorescences are axillary, racemose, sometimes spike-like, and can reach 20 cm in length; male inflorescences are relatively slender; male flowers have 4 sepals, which are only connate at the base, elliptical or ovate-oblong, about 2.5 mm long; petals are 4, separate or connate, and the polyanthemum stamens have 4 anthers; female flowers have 2 sepals and 2 petals, which are tiny and attached to the base of the sepals. The drupe is red, with an endocarp about 7mm long and three rows of small wart-like carvings on each side of the back.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in thickets or forest edges, rarely in forests.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter; Cold

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; disperses blood stasis and relieves pain; promotes diuresis and relieves stranguria. Indications: Wind-heat due to external infection; cough; sore throat; diarrhea due to damp-heat; toothache; pain due to trauma; difficult urination

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 6-9g.
