[Original form] Perennial deciduous woody vine. The simple leaves are alternate, with a flat top, shaped like a spatula, 3 to 6 cm long and 5 to 8 cm wide. The base is round or slightly heart-shaped, with 5 basal veins; there are two glands on both sides of the petiole, which is glabrous. There are axillary tendrils. The flowers are green-white, solitary or arranged in racemes, often axillary. The fruit is spherical, berry-like, 2 to 3 cm in diameter, green and fleshy.
