[Original form] Shrub, 0.8-1.5m high, rarely up to 6m. There are no branches except for the special lateral flower branches. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 1cm or longer; leaf blade is hard, papery or slightly thick, elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, rarely oblanceolate, 10-17cm long, 1.5-3.5cm wide, apex is long acute or acuminate, base is cuneate, nearly entire or with sparsely serrated edges with recurved sparse serrations, with marginal glandular dots at the apex, sparse glandular dots usually raised near the margin on the back, and other glandular dots are extremely sparse or absent, covered with fine scales; lateral veins are 12-18 pairs, raised, connected into marginal veins near the margin, and the margin is usually obviously recurved. The inflorescence is compound corymbose umbel, glabrous, borne at the tail end of the lateral special flower branches with downward-curved apex, with a few leaves on the upper part; the pedicel is 1.1-1.7cm long; the sepals are ovate, 2mm long, with glandular dots or the glandular dots are not obvious; the petals are white or purple, 6-7mm long, ovate, acute at the apex, with glandular dots, and with nipple-like protrusions near the base inside; the stamens are the same length as the petals, the anthers are arrow-lanceolate, with sparse large glandular dots on the back; the pistil is the same length as the petals. The fruit is spherical, about 9mm in diameter, dark red, and has unclear glandular dots. The flowering period is May-June, and the fruiting period is November-December.
