[Source] Medicinal material source: the seeds of Chenopodiaceae.

[Original form] Annual herb, 20-50cm tall. The stem is erect, single or multi-branched, angular and with green stripes. Leaves are alternate; petioles are slender and weak; leaf blades are elliptic or narrowly ovate, 2.5-5cm long, 1-3.5cm wide, usually 3-lobed, with the sides of the middle lobe nearly parallel, obtuse or acute at the apex, and with a short tip, and wavy serrations on the margins; the lateral lobes are located below the middle, usually each with 2 shallow lobes; the upper leaf blades gradually become smaller, narrow, with shallow teeth or nearly entire; both sides of the leaf blades are slightly covered with powdery particles. Inflorescences are axillary or terminal, with thin and sparse flower clusters forming a panicle inflorescence; flowers are bisexual, perianth is nearly spherical, 5 pieces, light green, white margins, with micro-longitudinal ridges on the back and densely covered with powder grains, bending inwards; 5 stamens, extending outside the perianth; 2 styles. Linear. The entire cyst is enclosed in the perianth, with the pericarp attached to the seeds. The seeds are oblate, black, shiny, and have hexagonal pits on the surface. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is May-July.

[Properties] Identification of properties: The seeds have ridges on the edges, are no more than 2mm in diameter, are black and shiny, and have hexagonal dimples on the surface.
