Flowers are bisexual, solitary in leaf axils or clustered at the top of branchlets; flowers are light yellow, about 1.8 cm in diameter; pedicels are 1-2 cm long, usually curved downward; bracteoles are 2, ovate-triangular; sepals are 5, almost round, about 4 mm long, slightly fused at the base, persistent; petals are 5, obovate-comb-shaped, 5-8 mm long, fused at the base; stamens are numerous, arranged in two whorls; ovary is superior, 2-3 chambers, style is 1, thick and short, stigma is 3-lobed. The capsule is dry berry-like, nearly spherical or elliptical-ovate, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, and yellow. Seeds red. Flowering period is July-August, and fruiting period is August-October.
