[Original form] Impatiens balsamina is an annual herb, 50-90cm tall. The stem is stout, erect, branched, glabrous, with a few sparse glandular hairs on the upper nodes. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 2-5cm long; leaf blade is ovate-oblong or ovate-lanceolate, 7-18cm long, 2.5-5cm wide, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, with coarse or small crenates on margin; 6-8 pairs of lateral veins. The peduncle is axillary, 6-10cm long, with bisexual flowers, 5-13 flowers arranged in a raceme; the pedicel is thin, with 1 bract at the base, and 1 glandular awn at the tip of the bract; the flower is yellow; there are 2 sepals, with 1 glandular awn at the tip; the mid-rib of the back of the standard petal has a keel-like protrusion, with a small tip at the tip, the wing petals are nearly sessile, 2-lobed, the base lobes are nearly round, the upper lobes are narrowly lanceolate, the lip is funnel-shaped, and the base extends into a long spur that bends inward; there are 5 stamens, and the anthers are obtuse. Capsule linear. The flowering period is from July to September, and the fruiting period is from August to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows near water or in wet areas of valleys.

【Functions and indications】Promote blood circulation and dredge meridians; detoxify. Mainly for traumatic injuries; snake bites

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 9-15g; or soak in wine. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
