[Original form] Perennial herb. Stemless. 3 to 4 leaves. Whorled at the top of the rhizome, sessile; leaves obovate to ovate, 1.5-4 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, the top leaves are small, with rounded or mucronate tips. The base is narrow, the edges have blunt serrations, pinnate veins, and they shrink when dry. The leaf surface is uneven and both sides are covered with white soft hairs and dark brown spots. The flower stems are several axillary, 6 to 12 cm high, with several flowers arranged in a nearly umbel shape; the calyx is 5-lobed; the corolla is tubular, with slightly 2-lipped limbs, and is light purple; there are 4 stamens, and the anther cells are widely branched. After the pollen is released, the filaments spirally pull the anthers into the corolla tube. The capsule is linear, 1.2 to 2 cm long and has two lobes when mature. Seeds fusiform.
