[Original form] Golden Phoenix, annual herb, 30-60cm tall. The stem is thin and weak, unbranched or with few branches. Leaves are alternate, usually densely packed on the upper part of stems or branches; petioles of lower leaves are 1.5-3cm long, and upper leaves are nearly sessile; leaf blades are ovate-lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, 5-13cm long, 2.5-5cm wide, acute or acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, with coarse round teeth on margins and small bristles between teeth; lateral veins are 5-11 pairs. The peduncle grows in the upper leaf axils, the flowers are bisexual, and 5-8 flowers are arranged in a raceme; the pedicel is slender, with a lanceolate bract at the base; the flowers are small and yellow; the sepals are 2, boat-shaped or narrowly oblong, with a sharp tip at the apex and an incurved base; the midrib of the back of the standard petal is thickened into a narrow wing, the wing petals are sessile, 2-lobed, the base lobes are nearly triangular, the upper lobes are linear, the lip is narrowly funnel-shaped, with a beak-like short tip at the apex, and the base is extended into an incurved or recurved long spur; the stamens are 5, and the anthers are obtuse. Capsule club-shaped. The flowering period is from May to October, and the fruiting period is from June to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in grass by the river or in shady wetlands under forests.
