[Original morphology] Pedicularis lei is a perennial herb, 15-30cm tall. Root fleshy. Multiple stems emanate from the base. The basal leaves are clustered, with long petioles, 2-5 cm long; the leaf blades are lanceolate-oblong, pinnately divided, with 9-12 pairs of lobes, ovate, and with sharp teeth on the edges; the stem leaves are few and have short petioles. The raceme is short; the bracts are leaf-like, glabrous or with sparse hairs; the calyx is oblong, with 5 teeth, the rear one is smaller and entire, the rest are narrowed at the base, ovate and serrated at the top; the corolla is rose-colored, the tube is 1 times longer than the calyx, the beak on the helmet is ± knee-shaped and bent forward, the beak is up to 8-10mm long, often curled in an S shape, the lower lip is 2.5-3cm wide, the base is broadly cordate, extending to the rear of the tube, and the lateral fissure is 1 times larger than the median fissure; the stamens are attached to the end of the tube, and the front pair of filaments are hairy. The capsule is lanceolate-ovate with a small convex tip. The seeds are oval and reticulate. Flowering period is July-August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in moist valleys and alpine meadows at an altitude of 3000-4500m.
