[Source] Medicinal material source: the roots and leaves of the Verbenaceae plant.

[Original form] Nearly head-shaped tofu-shaped plant, shrub, 1-2m high. There are obvious lenticels on the branches and yellow-white flat hairs on the young branches. Simple leaves are opposite; petioles are 0.4-1cm long and have flat soft hairs. The leaves are ovate to ovate-oblong, 2.5-8.5cm long and 1.5-4.8m wide. The edges are more or less serrated except at the tip and base. The tip is acuminate or acute, the base is truncated or rounded, the surface is dark yellow-green, with soft hairs and yellow glandular dots, and the back has felt-like hairs and glandular dots. The cymes are compressed into a head shape at the top of the branches, 0.6-2.5cm long and 1-3.5cm wide; the peduncle is cylindrical, 0.5-2cm long; the bracts are small, linear or narrowly lanceolate, 0.5-1cm long; the calyx is cup-shaped; the corolla is yellow-green or green-white, 4-lobed into two lips, the upper lip is entire, the lower lip is 3-lobed, and the throat is densely covered with long soft hairs; there are 4 stamens, which slightly extend out of the corolla. The drupe is dark black, oval, 3-4mm long and 2-3mm wide. Flowering and fruiting period is from May to August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in hillside forests at an altitude of 2600m.
