[Original morphology] Rough-skinned frog, body length about 43mm, slightly flat head, head length and width equal; snout tip blunt and pointed; snout ridge prominent, top of the head slightly concave downward, cheeks slightly tilted outward; nostrils slightly close to the tip of the snout, nose distance slightly larger than eye distance; tympanic membrane large and prominent, about the same size as the eye distance, vomerine teeth in two short oblique rows on the inner side of the internal nostril; tongue back end with a deep notch. The forearm and hand are 1/2 of the body length, the fingertips are round, and the order of finger length is 3, 1, 4, 2; the subarticular tumor is obvious; the medial metatarsal process is oval, and the lateral metatarsal process is small and round. The skin is extremely rough, and except for the palms, the entire area is covered with warts of varying sizes. The warts are white, with the smallest ones on the eardrum and the largest ones generally on the ventral surface. The back is long and narrow, with neatly arranged white warts and distinct temporal folds; there is a larger maxillary gland at the rear end of the mouth corner; there are inner and outer tarsal folds. The male has a light-colored nuptial pad at the base of the first finger and no vocal sac.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: It often lives in piles of rocks and rock crevices beside cold water streams in mountainous areas.

[Chemical composition] The skin contains ranatensin-R. The liver cells contain guanine and cytosine. The bile contains 5α-cyprinol sulfate. The skin contains 4 types of peptides.

[Pharmacological action] 1. Bactrian kinin-R can contract the uterus of rats and the gallbladder of guinea pigs. It has a blood pressure lowering effect.
