【English Name】Weasel Brain

[Source] The origin of the medicinal material: the brain marrow of the mustelid animal Artemisia selengensis .

[Original form] The body of the weasel is similar to that of the yellow weasel, with a body length of 30-45cm and a tail length of 11-20cm. The snout is blunt, the neck is slightly thick, and the feet are short. The hair between the forelimbs is short, and the hair on the middle back is the longest, about 45-50mm. The hair at the base of the tail is second and is slightly arched. The tail hair is slightly fluffy. Plantaris. The soles of the feet are furred. The palm pads are well developed, with 4 on the front feet in a petal-shaped pattern and 2 on the wrist pads; the claws are thick and sharp, brownish-white in color. The hair on the back of the body is brown or sandy yellow, with more black pointed hairs on the waist, back and buttocks. Body sides light brown. The nose and jaw are white. The middle of the nose, around the eyes and between the eyes are brown-black. There is an oval white spot in front of the eye and the forehead is gray-brown. The cheeks and ear base are grayish white, and the back and outer edge of the ear are white. The chest, triceps and limbs are dark brown. It has anal glands that emit a foul odor.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: It inhabits open mountains, grasslands, forests, shrubs and villages below 3200m above sea level. It likes to live in close quarters, caves, and is active at dusk and at night. Feeds mainly on mouse-like rodents.
